Your question is showing that you are taking the wrong highway/route.

Your worried about medical coverage for your wife! But not concerned about keeping her here!!!!!!!

A spousal sponsorship In Land now will not keep your partner in Canada removal will take priority.

If you have not submitted a Pre Removal Risk Assessment (PRAA) submission that is your first step. If your wife is going for a decision on her PRRA you will be expected to purchase her ticket.

You will then need to send her home and submit a spousal sponsorship overseas to bring her back after applying for authorization to return.

Hopefully your wife is not suffering from serious illness.

You can do it THREE ways.

Why did you delay submitting the sponsorship in the first place?

Okay

The first way----- is depending on the country your wife is from you can submit an In Land spousal sponsorship and (IF) CIC looks at it and approves it without an interview they may complete it in time. That is (IF) you can find any new evidence to make the PRRA officer take their time in responding.

(IF) not approved stage one by the time the decision comes down you have to do the following.

Option 2 Withdraw any In Land undertaking for your sponsorship and submit an overseas spousal sponsorship.

Option 3. Submit a PRRA and at the same time submit an Overseas spousal sponsorship. One month for Mississauga CPC to approve the sponsor and one or two months after that send her home with a really good letter requesting authorization to return.

Once the letter is dated calling her in for a PRRA initial interview the chances of CIC actually looking at the spousal sponsorship is real low. To get rid of you all they have to is transfer file to the local office.

confused (in reply to: IFH coverage)
I have been accepted to sponsor my common law partner. My partner was given PRRA which we filed.

Why do they give this to us ? He is not concerned about persecution, he simply wants to stay here in Canada to be with me.

I realize this buys us more time to be together.....so I dont mind. I thought when they see sponsorship has been approved it will become low priority. In any event, based on my readings, he will have to leave soon (we did an out of Canada application)
