Hi!
I recently received my medical papers for my family and myself. The tests were conducted about a month ago. I would like to know if anyone has any idea as to how long it would take from here and what is the actual process now onwards? Do I have to just wait for the medical results to reach my designated visa post from Ottawa or are there any other results that the visa post will be waiting for to be received by them i.e. Background check etc?
At what stage are the background checks carried out? Are they done prior to the issue of medicals or post medicals? Does the backgoround check also include checks on my addresses, academic qualifications, work places etc. or just involvement in criminal activities?
I have waited for about 4 years to receive the medicals, just can´t wait any longer. Its too long a process.
If any body could put a highlight on these issues then that wud be highly appreciated.

Medical usually takes few months and background check is to verify each and every information you submitt it to them including but not limited to your credentials and your police clearnaces. Time varies from visa post to visa post. From USA a normal case would take around 2 yers. And time from the interview, medicals and issuance of visa should be between 3-6 months. I am sharing my personal experience with you because i moved from USA and this is how long it took.
