Take the test again, if you can and send them the better results. What is the use of informing them about the test with low band unless there is a deadline mentioned to submitt the test resulet by embassy.

All depends on how many points you need and what scores you got, if you got say 6.5 on reading , thy`ll give you 2 points but with 7 you have 4 points. Maybe you can prepare soon and take the test ASAP, otherwise I suggest you to study for some months and take it again.

IELTS Material (in reply to: IELTS)
Guys,

I suggest you to prepare well for the IELTS as it would be the deciding factor in the approval of your Canadian PR as it is purely a points based system.

I recently got a letter from "Buffalo, New York" asking me to take an IELTS exam. So, I recently wrote this IELTS test and I got 7.0 which made me to grab 4 points there by making me eligible to apply for Canadian PR.

I Score is automatically submitted to the Canadian embassy, by the test center after 13 days.

Soon after 3 weeks, I got a letter from "Buffalo" saying that the file has been transferred to "Los Angeles" for the final analysis and need not contact for 90 more days to find the status of the application.

So, I advice you to take up an IELTS exam which is worth. Please contact me through email, if you NEED any IELTS material which I bought recently.

Thanks

Does anybody know what happened to the August 2008 decision of Canadian Government for the IELTS failed in immigration requirement in the year 2005? Thanks.

the decision was that IELTS will not be mandatory. however, the rules still apply - a declaration of proficiency is subject to assessment by the I.O. and you cannot dispute the points assigned.

What that means is, if english is not your mother tongue, and you claim you are fluent... you may or may not get 16 points. The only way you will be sure of 16 points is supplying an IELTS score.
