Subject: Caregiver fast track to citizenship? |
We´ve been told that there´s a 2-year fast track to citizenship for PRs who work as caregivers in Canada. Would anyone know if any truth to this? Couldn´t find anything about this at the CIC website.

(in reply to: Caregiver fast track to citizenship?) Hey thanks Sharon. I knew about the temporary worker caregiver program, but this is about Permanent Resident working as a caregiver with fast track for citizenship. I have a feeling this doesn´t exist and what we heard is not correct.

(in reply to: Caregiver fast track to citizenship?) I do not know whether this will help.
Time you stay on work/study permit is counted as half for citizenship purposes up to a maximum of 1 year. For example, lets say you were on valid work/study permit from 1-1-2006 to 31-12-2007. On 1-1-2008, you became a landed PR, you can apply for citizenship on 1-1-2010. 2 years as PR and 1 year counted as half on work/study permit.
