Subject: Did i play my cards right?
im applying under skilled worker category i have lived in the US ever since i was 16 so as far as police records all i need is the FBI one (if i understand correctly, please correct me if im wrong, I am Mexican citizen) yet my US visa expires at the end of the year so i wanted to apply to Canada as soon as possible and i decided to send my application without the Fbi prints and just hope that i will be allowed to send the fbi prints later or once they request my medical exam and original documents, was that the right move? I feel that even if they return me the package it will still take time before i get my prints so theres no real loss but i may be wrong. any thoughts comments or advice would be appreciated from this point on

Yes, you´re move was right. CIC will ask for your FBI records at a later date in the processing when they´re ready. It will be about the same time that your medical exam will be requested.

Enrique, yes I already went through the same process you´re going through. It took me 2.5 years, so hang in there as the results won´t be immediate. But as we talked about in another thread about GC, much faster and in my opinion, better place and more rewarding.

2.5 years? thats rough! i though processing times hover around 1 year, any reason why the delay? im bassing the processing time on the cic website plus what some consultants told me when i was considering getting one.

Yep. 2.5 is about right. Assuming you´re applying in the U.S. through Buffalo. In that case, average processing time is 19 months or about 2.5 years. Check following from CIC website on times:

Oops, mispoke and bad math. 19 months is 1.5. When I went though 2.5 was the average. So you may be right and it may go faster for you.
