Hello all,
I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.
I am British married to a Canadian. I was a landed immigrant in Canada for many years before spending the last 20 years in Switzerland. Now I will be retiring and we want to move back to Canada. I couldn´t find any information on that and at the moment it is not easy to get through to the Embassy in Paris. So my question is, are we going to have problems in moving back as far as immigration is concerned? I would just like to know what we can expect.
Thanks for any help, information or advice.

(in reply to: Returning resident) did you ever apply for citizenship?

(in reply to: Returning resident) Have your Canadian spouse sponsor you again it is far better then trying to sneak in because you abandoned Canada and are no longer a PR.
Everything should be complete by the time your ready to move.b See www.cic.gc.ca to understand how long the processing times are for spouses outside of Canada.

Returning resident (in reply to: Returning resident) Thanks for the reply. Does it matter that my wife is not a resident of Canada? Can she still sponsor me from outside Canada?

(in reply to: Returning resident) Yes, she can sponsor you from outside Canada as she is a Canadian citizen. However, she will have to show intentions of moving to Canada.
