Parents Sponsorship (in reply to: Parents Sponsorship Forum (Part 6))
Friends,
I do not have time to write personal letters.
Every day I receive letters where people depict different heartbreaking stories how they suffer far away from their parents.
But as soon I ask, ?What personally did you do to change the situation?? I?m getting standard answer that they are busy at job, have small children, special circumstances, or simply don?t know what to do.
In many letters people even emphasize that situation within their community is unique from others, because traditions in their country is to take special care for the parents.!!!
Are you really thing that people from different countries love parents differently?

I wish to ask every Sponsor to answer questions below and everybody can measure if you love your parents or you simply need them for some reason (help with children, business and so on).

1. Did you sign the Petition and letter to the House of Commons?
2. Did you even try to find more person who is willing to sign the Petition and letter to the House of Commons?
3. Did you visit you local MP?
4. Did you send letter to Shadow Ministry of Immigration?
5. Did you post new Sponsorship Forum somewhere in Internet?
6. Did you give ad to your local community newspaper or TV?
7. Did you send letters to any National papers and TV?
8. Did you do something to change the situation?

If most of your answers ?NO? my advise:
Go back to your country and take care of your parents, because in the current situation you do not have even hope to see parents soon in Canada.
In order to change the situation everybody has to contribute into our movement.
I?m the same regular person who sent application after June 24, 2003. I have full time job and multiple family duties.
If you are concerned about your parents simply do something, but sorry I cannot give your instruction for every step. Many people in grave situation, but they think that me or someone else will do something for them.
As you can see even my English is not perfect, I just love my mother and this love give me the power to be initiative.

very long processing time of immigration application (in reply to: Parents Sponsorship Forum (Part 6))
First of all, thank you so much for your time and effort on building this website. I believe it will serve as an more efficient way to collect signatures. I strongly support it. I did send a complain letter to my local MP, but no response at all. Yeah, I agree that we all should send petition to as more MPs as possible. Does anyone know where we can find a full list of MPs?
One more thing about the petition. I don´t know if petition can be revised or not at this point of time. Because processing time of immigration application overseas for parents is becoming much much more longer too, I think we should mention this in petition too. Otherwise even after sponsorship is approved, it will still take unacceptable long time for parents to get visa.
I understand that increasing "Quota" is the final solution for both sponsorship and immigration application, but better to include this point in the petition.

Parents are Liability (in reply to: Parents Sponsorship Forum (Part 6))

I moved to Canada in 2002 and after finding a stable well-paid job as a Systems Analyst i finally decided sponsoring my parents in Sept 2003. It has been my long time dream to unite with my parents as i left my hometown at a very young age to pursue education abroad so I can be capable enough to look after my parents in the future. The sponsorship took so long to process and in the mean time my mother passed away suddenly in November 2004. I wrote a letter to CIP Mississauga requesting them to withdraw my mother?s sponsorship and continue with my father?s sponsorship. Finally in Sept 2005 the CIP requested me to submit my recent letter of my recent employer stating my Salar along with C Printouts and pay stubs i submitted immediately, on November 2005 i got a phone call from CIC and asking me to submit my notice of assessment and T4 slips for year 2002 and 2003. And then i got a letter from CIP indicating decision has been made and that CIP has rejected my application because due to I haven have only made CDN $ 19,000 dollars between Sept 2002 - sept 2003, while my total income for the year 2003 is over $29,000. Why is CIC going backwards they should be looking at my present Income and stability, Its easy enough to figure out if a person had moved to Canada in Oct 2002 how?s he suppose to have a steady flow of income. My father has very high hopes to unite with me and my families he is completely alone there as the whole family is established in Canada. If Canada respects family union and humanitarian grounds then this should not be happening I am totally gutted about their decision and feel the system has been unfair to me. I have paid over $10,000 dollars worth of taxes last year 2004 and will be paying over $13,000 worth of taxes this year 2005 and still this is not enough. I will really appreciate if my message can be conveyed so someone in my shoes does not have to end up like me. I am very disappointed, please help !!!!!
