this is from this mornings paper...

This week CIC said it would expedite immigration requests from Canadian residents who have disaster struck relatives along the Asian rim. Canadians with immediate family members in affected areas will be given priority and the department beleives most of the claims will be made for relatives in Sri Lanka.

...I doubt that this will affect anyones timelines.

Hi Sharon,

Have a question for you. I have a PR case started in buffalo which started processing on Jan 31,04, received aor in Feb 2nd week and sent IELTS scores. Now i am jsut waiting for medicals. Its already Jan 05 now. Do you think there could be a problem because based on a lot of comments from individuals in this forum, people who applied around the same time like me have received IA as well as medicals. Do you think CIC will treat every case differently. I have been in the US for 7 years and applied in US only and through consultants based in Ontario not Abraham krocak. Please let me know what you think.

Happy New Year,

Well....problem might be that your consultant was on vacation in Phuket and might have been washed away.

dear SRA9167
it is impossible to tell why some files take longer than others because there are so many things we do not know. 1) is your file exactly the same as others 2) does the same CIC officer look at your file - maybe she is sick or on holiday 3)maybe there is one more thing they wait for.

I have no answer to your question. Try to be patient. it will come.

Thank you Anonymous for the 4th reply. And, thank you Anonymous 3rd reply for your sense of humour . However, I fail to see the humour as this is something I am worried about it and no laughing matter and making fun of Tsunami victims is very inhumane. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Regards
