(in reply to: violation of immigration act of Canada) Profoundly disturbing, to say the least! How on earth people get into these kind of things. I know so many single Indo-Canadians who wished they could find a mate here but it looks like most women from there seem to be searching for mates in India! Crazy situation, I would say. I think you may certainly require an attorney to represent you in the court and make sure all liabilities (on your part) are annulled, along with the marriage itself. How would one go about it? I have no idea. It is amazing how much wickedness there is in our world. And then, it absolutely baffles me why an army officer in India would do so many underhanded things just to get to Canada. Is there so much to gain by moving here?

(in reply to: violation of immigration act of Canada) These stories are very VERY common with Punjabi Sikhs. They are desperate to do anything to come to Canada, and are willing to use wrong methods to come. I really do hope that the Canadian Government looks more carefully in this issue. I happen to be a Punjabi and I have heard so many of these types of horrific stories by both males and females from Punjab.

(in reply to: violation of immigration act of Canada) you cannot deport him - only the Government of Canada can.
I believe you can file for divorce in Canada - which I would do. Forget any attempt to stay with this man or his plans. He is evil and will do nothing but hurt you.
You will have sponsored him. I believe that entitles you to report your discovery to CIC. They will take things from there.
Roy, do I have it right?

Enterpreneur Class : Violation (in reply to: violation of immigration act of Canada) My Family and myself landed 7 years back under the above. However I didnot report to them as I was supposed to on a regular basis. Now Last year we all applied for Citizenship. My Grown up children both students got their citizenship and Canadian Passports. However when I, my wife and younger daughter applied we were sent a letter saying that I was Violating the immigration act. I have been self employed as a Mutual fund and Insurance Representative all the 7 years in Canada. They have asked me to fill the form IMM5343 and IMM5344. Can my children and I be removed from Canada?

Temporary Visitor Visa (in reply to: violation of immigration act of Canada) We are looking at inviting an extended family member from abroad for a visit in Canada. We are doing this invitation in good faith. However, we would like to know 1) what are the consequences for him and us if he stays longer than the visa period but without approved renewal? What are our responsibilities if he elopes?.....
