Hello everyone,
I am a German citizen who came to Canada on a work permit (Work & Travel). A canadian company hired me and they applied on my behalf for a (LMO) Labour Market Opinion. Unfortunately my work permit expired at the end of February but I did not receive a response from Human Resources and Social Development Canada/Service Canada by this time. I chose to remain in Canada and wait for a response which I received three days later. The response turned out to be negative so I immediately applied for a work permit in Germany (valid for one year) and six weeks later I received the permit. Now I would like to enter the US only to re-enter Canada with my new work permit however, I am concerned the canadian immigration officer will decline my entry into Canada even with my valid work permit as I did remain in Canada past the expiration date of the original work permit.
Does anyone know how much I am in trouble? I am still in the 90 grace period so is there a chance they still let me back in with my new work permit?
Thanks for any advise I am pretty scared and dont know what I should do.
Thanks,
Elena
