Subject: Canadian wanting to sponsor Philippine Wife
  Hello,
I am getting married July.12 in the Philippines.

I was in a car accident in 2006 and have not worked since the accident. I am still awaiting my claim.
Since I have no income in 2006/2007 is this correct I cannot sponsor my wife?
I talked to a immigration counsellor and they have told me since I have no income for 2007 I will not be able to sponsor my wife since sponsoring your wife requires being responsible for her and able to provide food, shelter, clothing ect.. for them for 3 years of the time they arrive.

Is there something I am missing or can I get around that?

Do I have to wait for my claim before sponsoring or is that even acceptable to Immigration?

Immigration will accept and look at my application but once processed and Immigration sees the no income in 2007 will that end my chances and pro long my visa process top many years?

Job/income does not matter for spousal sponsorship.
