Those who applied before February 27, 2008, will not be subject to the new proposed provisions in the legislation. These provisions, once passed, will apply to applications received on or after February 27, 2008.

Why do you believe the politicians?
Why are so many groups involved with immigrants and refugee´s opposed to this proposed legislation?
Why are so many Lawyers and Consultants with years of experience ringing alarm bells regarding this legislation?
Anything that allows one person (Minister CIC) or a government employee signing on behalf of a the Minister to amend or change rules, regulations and laws is so un-democratic and un-Canadian.
How many young American and others died in Iraq just over five years ago because they were told by a politician that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?
Olivia Chow NDP Immigration Critic will be introducing an amendment to split this legislation so that the Immigration legislation part of the bill will be sent to committee for study and voted on seperately. PRAY for her success.
