| Subject: Is there any alternative to Degree transcripts |

Hi,
I am in Canada, on international student visa. I want to apply for immigration to Canada. Transcripts of the degree are a must for this process.
My problem is that getting transcripts from my univestiy in India is very long and tedious process. I want to apply at the earliest.
But I have my original degree certificates and marksheets with me here.
Is it possible to get them verified here and use them instead of transcripts?
Please reply at the earliest.

What you need are the transcripts of the most recently acquired degree. So if you are in a MS program you´d definately need transcripts of that program. Since you are a student in Canada; obtaining these should not be a problem and will also look good for your case as you are already admitted and undergoing a degree granting institute in Canada itself. CIC understands that transcripts are not always possible to obtain from Indian Universities. I had similar issue and submitted all U.S. transcripts and Degrees and Marklists of Indian Programs. CIC did not ask for any other documentation.
However do ensure that you notorize all degree´s and Marksheets when you submit. Banks usually do that for free if you are a customer (that is in the U.S) I´m not sure of Canadian Banks.

You still send transcript. Unless you claimed you were done with your MBA to get the points then you are lying which you should not do to being with.
