Subject: Visitor Visa, Apply for PR in Canada or Buffalo
  Dear,

All my familly( myself, my wife and my twin daughters) has 2 years visitor visa.I would like to know if there is a way we can apply for PR from inside Canada. The procedure is very long when apply in my home country. I would like to move with my familly this summer.I have three oncles, three aunts and other close familly members ready to assist us.
Can we apply from inside Canada ?

I also have United States visitor visa valid for 5 years. Can I submit my application in Buffalo.
Kindly help please , the most important is to move as soon as possible, a fast application process would help.
Your advises are welcome.

no you cannot. Your plans are one of the reasons it is so difficult for people to get visitors visas!

what you CAN do is look for an employer that will offer you a job that could qualify you for a work permit. The permit process takes several months. I believe you will need to leave the country and re-enter for the permit to be validated. Once you are admitted to Canada for more than 1 year (to work), you would be able to apply for permanent status. That usually takes 2+ years through Buffalo.

Fast as possible is not an option. You may wish to do some reading at www.cic.gc.ca to better understand the process and the rules.

Thank You for your advise.

I have reasonable income to live and support my familly. But we really want to have a better quality of life.
We had a second option, my wife would move on August 2008 with my Daughters( 4 years). She is planning to take a course which would last six month. (Live in Care Giver ) and then after apply for a work permit , while working she could then apply in Buffalo.
What do you think about this option.

Thank you for your kind advise

Thank you Sharon,

I will do as explainned.

Now my kids, will they be able to go to school ?
After six months will she have to come back home to apply for a work permit or can she remains in Canada / Or does she have to ask for an extension before.

Regards

May I strongly suggest that before you do anything - do lots of homework. Do not rush out and decide and think you have it all worked out.

what sort of course is this? Do you have any sort of link?

are you thinking she will be coming as a visitor, putting the children in school and taking this care giver course?

I appreciate your support Sharon,

We do have famillies there who are ready to assist.
I have contact with a professional school already.

It´s a health care course which will allow work in Hospital and assist elder.

Now I am mainly worried about school for my kids. Will they be able to attend school?
As a visitor she can attend any course not more than six months without any student permit, however Ishe is planning to apply for a student permit.
Is it ilegal what we are doing ?
The kids , what should we do so they can attend school. ?

Cheers

no, from my understanding it is not technically illegal.

several members on this forum have a difference of opinion about school for the kids. Enrolling in school as a ´visitor´ is hard to justify but I have been told by others that people do it.

Make sure your wife and children have private health insurance while they are in Canada.

If a hospital offers her a job at the end of 6 months there may be a way for her to arrange it where she does not have to leave the country - not 100% sure.

She MUST report on any documents that she is married. Otherwise, she will not be allowed to bring you to Canada permanently.

CSQ obtained.. (in reply to: Visitor Visa, Apply for PR in Canada or Buffalo)
Dear Sharon,

Thank you for your advise. Unfortunately no one else give opinions on the subject. I will follow your advise.

I have a friend , she has the CSQ( Certificate Selection Quebec). She is planning to continue the process to obtain the PR. But the process is very long, it will take a two more years, she would like to move before that.

Anyone knows, what is the best way to move to Qc.
Does she have a way that her application process can be accelerate ?
Can she moves to quebec while waiting for her PR ?

Please advise
