  Morning all.

I just got back from going to Tim´s to get my morning coffee. I had thought about walking but as soon as I opened the door I realized I had forgotten my gloves and hat. The morning temperature could not be blocked out by me still wearing my winter coat. I could still feel the cold inside the car for the short trip to my favorite coffee shop.

Last summer it virtually never rained in the Greater Toronto Area and the media types were worried about water shortages. This winter we came so close to breaking the snowfall record. There are still huge dirty piles of snow in some mall parking lots melting ever so slowly. My yards are free of snow which brings a small smile to my face.

I take the drive through at Tim Horton´s so I don´t have to get out of the car and at 07:30 on a Sunday not to many others are using the drive through. As I open the car window to order my coffee a cold blast of wind makes me shiver. I close the window while the only other car pays for their coffee. I then pay and close the window quickly and drive quickly the two blocks home.

I take my two coffee´s upstairs and turn on the computer. I quickly rub my hands back and forth to try to get some blood flowing in them. I rap my hands around my coffee to bring them some warmth. I open this site and quickly read some posts were I posted yesterday to read the responses.

I take my first sip of my coffee and I feel so great and then I read this.

my tulips are blooming :):):)

Sharon no matter what you write you will not ruin my day.

I still believe spring will come to Toronto probably by August this year.

kiss.

you know, we have this inferiority complex to Toronto - everyone thinks it´´s bettter so our only come back is the weather. (how sad)

if it helps... today is cloudy and it is supposed to rain later.

thank you for making my morning.

On the East Coast (New Brunswick). It´s surprisingly mild. We have been having temperatures in the high 40´s. :o I know.. it´s balmy and almost T-shirt weather! *not* :)

Sharon on this Friday spring arrives in Toronto it is suppose to be 21c.

Another difference is that we have the "Boys of Spring". The Blue Jays are destined to go all the way this year.

Toronto Boys of winter have not counted for 40+ years.

we hit 20 on Saturday. Sunday was about 16.

Can´t say baseball excites me much - it is a bit like watching grass grow :)

It was 20C yesterday in Fort McMurray, the snow is pretty much gone. Today was 5C in the morning and I think the warmest is going to be 14C. Not bad for mid April.

Our winters are rough and ugly but no province can beat the summer in the praires.

All the snow of my front yard is gone and my Golden Retriever can´t wait to go for a swim. He will have to wait a couple more months though.

Cheers

Bill
