I went to China and met a girl who was the niece of a very close family friend. I proposed to her on the 4th day. She accepted on the 7th day, after taking into account advices from her elders. We got engaged the day she accepted my proposal.
I intend to wait for at least six months before going back to China and getting married.
The question is that I don´t know whether I should classify this as an arranged marriage or not. It was more like an arranged introduction, with the blessing of her family and close relatives.
I´m worried that this could be viewed as a Sham marriage by the immigration official, due to the short period of time, it took me to make my decision to propose, and her to accept.
Financially, I´m secure because I´m a professional accountant (being both a Canadian CA and US CPA).
