Subject: ILL PARENT |

I am a canadian PR and wish to sponsor my mother,70 for a canadian immigrant visa.
The problem is she has multiple medical problems ; neurological disability, history of old cured cancer.
Friends have told me she will not be approved due to her medical problems.
Is that true? Is there anything a good lawyer can do about this?
She is a widow, living with a hired help in India. Will that matter?
Thanks for any advice.

(in reply to: ILL PARENT) it does not sound promising. She would need to demonstrate that she would not be a strain on the Canadian medical system. Not sure you are going to be able to do that.
to make matters worse, the wait is significant.

(in reply to: ILL PARENT) If she showed good money in her own account( $500k), would they give that any consideration?
Wait times for India are 24 months for 80% of parental cases

(in reply to: ILL PARENT) I doubt it.

(in reply to: ILL PARENT) Sharon is right, showing any amount of bank balance has nothing to do with this kind of case.
