Subject: Alias/Other Name
I have applied for sponsorship for my spouse to immigrate to canada. I am a canadian citizen. My husband has 2 names. We used both names on the application to sponsor and application for immigration. The name that he uses now is the one that is put in the "other name / alias". The name at birth (he doesn´t use anymore) is the one put on the first name, last name portion.

The immigration and citizenship has been referencing the birth name since the application has been receive.

We are scheduled for an interview and that they will hand to us the Confirmation on Permanent Resident Document. I have requested that the name to reflect on the "Confirmation on Permanent Resident Document" be the name that my husband uses now (the other name/alias). Since I got the letter after the deadline to make any changes, I doubt if they will change it.

My questions are:
1. If we got the Confirmation on Permanent Resident Document and it has his birth name, what should we do to change it to the alias name?
2. How long does it take to change the name of the Confirmation on Permanent Resident Document or PR Card?
3. I would like to have it right at the start so that when my husband apply for other IDs such as SIN, Medicare, Drivers License, his alias name will be used all throughout. I know it´s a hassle to have different names on different documents. I want to make it right at the beginning. Any recommendations.

Thanks.
