The guy who served for Pearson Government and apparently a high standing citizen of Canada is asking for changes to the way canadian citizenship is granted. Basically, those who do not explicitly declare allegiance to Canada and a primary intent to become Canadian citizen within three years after immigrating MUST be deported, he says! I like this guy´s idea of Canada as a nation-state and a mere semi-colony of Britain demanding allegiance to the Queer of England.

Well that article sounds highly patriotic but it is ridiculous to imagine patriotism among Canadians. They are the subjects of the British Queen. If anything, it takes enormous drive to free oneself of the colonial remnants in one´s country. Canadians are all too passive (wussies at best) and obedient to the Old Lady of England to claim true sovereignty. In that sense, those reforms suggested in the article are unlikely to manifest in reality in a very long long time. I don´t think there is any need to change any of the current laws. It is not wise to compare Canadians with the Americans, who are immensely driven by freedoms and liberties and have violently overthrown the British. That much free spirit will never dawn upon the Canadians.
