I had recently submitted paper for my spose´s immigration. However the packet was sent back as i did not attach "option c" printout.
I had immgrated to Canada a few months back. I am yet to file my first tax return. How can i get an "option c" printout?
If anyone know about this, please help.

Based on your post I´m assuming that you´re currently in Canada. Off the top of my head, I can think of two options that may be available to you:

1) Contact CIC via their Call Centre (1-888-242-2100) and ask them directly as to what you should do. In my experience (my husband and I submitted my application for permanent residence via spousal sponsorship in July 2004), when it comes to questions regarding things like "Option C" print outs and the other documents required in PR application it´s best to go directly to the source.

2) Wait to resubmit your spouses PR application until after you´ve filed your first Canadian tax return.

I´d be inclined to recommend the first option, since they may be able to help you get the application resubmitted sooner. The agents I´ve dealt with when I´ve called the Call Centre, were almost always very nice and helpful with all the questions I asked when I was preparing my application for permanent residence.

Oh, I forgot to add one other option...you may want to consider calling Revenue Canada (they´re the ones that issue the Option C printouts, which are basically a notice of assessment for the prior tax year) and see if they can issue you one even though you´ve never filed a Canadian tax return.

Hi,
yes, Mel is right, better to wait till your first Notice of Assesment, which will come after you file your first income tax. Though it takes much longer for Revenue to process your income tax for the first time. In my case, it took them about 6 months in last year! But if you still want to try to get option C right now, then you have to call to Revenue Agency 1-888-959-8281. That´s number I called to get my Option C Printout.

you can apply for sponsorship with option 'c' print (in reply to: "option c" printout)
You can apply for sponsoring your wife without option C printout. However you will need to submit an experience letter from your employer and in all proability CIC will verify your employemnt status from your employer.
You also need to submit in written the reason for not including option c printout.
It will typically take a at least 3 months or more depending on which office will process your application.
I am not 100% sure but as far as I know, being pregnant will not have any effect on processing of your aplication. They won´t hurry it up for this reason and they will not delay it either for this reason.

Pat,
You can obtain an experience letter from your employer. It should mention your designation, period of empoyment, and the salaries you received to date. They accepted it in my case.

"option c" printout question (in reply to: "option c" printout)
Is this "option c" printout the same as the Notice of Assessment that the Canada Revenue Agency sends you after they have processed your tax return? If so, would it be sufficient to send them this notice rather than requesting an "option c" printout?
