  Still me.

I´ve gone round and round with the Chinese consulate but they won´t help me. I don´t have any other contacts left in China and don´t know how to go about getting a letter of good conduct. I can´t even find the contact information for the notary office in the town where I taught!

Does anyone have any ideas? I´m really starting to freak out and wondering what my wife´s and mine´s options are at this point.

For anyone who missed part one, I taught english in China back in 2000-2001 for 9 months and recently got a letter asking for a letter of good conduct or no record from China for that time.

I sponsored my wife about 9 months ago, and we had similar issue. Chinese consulate absolutely useless.

I wrote to the CDN embassy handling our application, explained the situation, and attached the email I got back from the Chiense consulate explaining that my wife would have to present herself physically in Beijing, explained that that was impossible for us, and they waived the requirement. Her experience in China was more recent than yours, so I shouldn´t think it is a problem. Unless of course your wife is Chinese...
