Subject: DIVORCE CERTIFICATE, CLARIFICATION FOR ROY |

Dear Roy, I separated from my husband in 2004, my partner did so in 2001. I started my divorce in 2006, my partner has just started his divorce... We both have been living together in a common law relation since 2006. Our current marital situation is common law, so we applied as common law. Our divorces processes are in a different stage, you see, mine is advanced, his is in an initial stage, but CIC wants his "divorce certificate" and in Chile getting a divorce takes at least one year, so will it cause a delay in the whole process? Why they did not ask for my "divorce certificate"? I am the principal applicant, I applied with 70 points, we live in Chile and we are Chilean. I hope it is clear, it seems it was a bit confuse. Thanks for your comments,

(in reply to: DIVORCE CERTIFICATE, CLARIFICATION FOR ROY) Explain the situation clearly and all will be fine. Hopefully supporting information that others know you to be in a long term common law relationship should help.
Roy
