Subject: Police report - will it still be valid? |

I was born in and lived in country A till I was 20. I´m now living in country B. I´m planning to apply for a Canadian permanent residence under the skilled worker program in about 2 years time.
As I´m back in country A now for a holiday, can I obtain the police report from this country now? Would it still be valid for me to use when I actually send in my application in 2 years time? I don´t plan on any future visits in the next 2 years, so it´ll problematic to obtain this later.
Thank you.

(in reply to: Police report - will it still be valid?) NO all proof of no convictions have to be issued within the last six months REGARDLESS of country.

(in reply to: Police report - will it still be valid?) Police certificates have expiry dates. Otherwise one could obtain a clearance at age 2 yrs and use that for the rest of their lives.
Ok, jokes apart, I think CIC accepts validity of the certificate for one year from the date of issue (so, it does not matter how long they are valid in country A or B).
So if you are going to apply 2 yrs from now, then there is no point in getting it now.
