Re: For Independent immigrant class application filed at Buffalo (U.S.)
I did my medicals as asked in November 2004 and submitted other docs (incl. FBI clearance + ROLF etc.) around the 2nd week of December, 2004.
Any other person(s) with time-line experience on when I can expect a request for passport for visa stamp?
Also will the visa be valid for a year from the stamp date or my medical date?

Hello Gill,
I am going through exactly what you are. I was told during my interview that the visa will be valid from the date of the medicals. I was also told that I should get the notice to get my visa stamped about 6 weeks after the interview. Its been about 4 weeks, and my ROLF is on its way.
Lets wait for someoen to reply and we´ll see how long it takes from now onwards :) I am sure you´r papers will be ready before mine.

hi guys,
i am also in the same situation but the only diffirent is that i applied for quebec first and when i got selected for that province.they told me to send my quebec selection certificate with some others documents to Buffalo. in december, buffalo sent me the medical form to do the medical examinition and i did it in the same month.so freind of mine told me it takes usually 8-9 months after the medical examinition.and i called a lawyer who is speicalized in canadian immigration and he told me it takes about 5 months. actully i am confused of their answers because what i know that the last phase of immigratiom process is the medical examinition,so why should it take that much time?
and how many months do u think it takes for the passport request?

hello everyone,
Thanks for prompt reply and sharing experience. In meantime I called up a lawyer as well and he told me that if all documents (as asked) + medicals + ROLF have been submitted; it should take between 1-2 months for the passport request. This he can say from past experience he has had from other cases he has filed.
In anycase I shall keep you all updated on my case and when I get the request. Please share your experience as well.
I have no idea on Qubec nomination - maybe someone else can help you on that or better call a lawyer.

Hello dumbos each and every case is unique in its own way. some may get early some will take time. get on with your life till then dont stop eating or shitting till you get your pp request.

If you are so much in your life (i.e. shitting and eating) right in your case it is the opposite... then why are u wasting your time at this forum.... I guess a loser who got bumped by the authorities and now you are sitting in a lowely basement - still living with your mother on her pension - kicked by your fat a$$ girlfriend - changing her 2 year diapers(who by the way is not fathered by you but her fat as& husband).

I also applied to Buffalo and I am independent inmigrate by quebec nominated and I am still waiting for requesting of the passport, I submitted my first application july 2004, and medical examination and police clearance on november 2004. I still did not receive any notice and any paper. If someone could let me know how long it will take?
And once, I receive the passport request hat are the steps to follow, please???

We have submitted our medicals on June 3rd and were told to submit our original passports 1 month after the medicals. I want to know is how long after the passports are submitted is the waiting period before we get the visas?
