Hello,
I have a question. I processed my file in August 2003. Around same time in 2004 I received a letter that my file was transfered to Detroit, I needed an interview and they had included medical forms. I ordered the CAIPS notes to find out why I needed an interview and everything looked O.K. There wasn´t anything in there to be concerned about. Also I found out from the notes that my file was to be reopened in Detroit in October of 2004. My question is: Does anyone know of any instances where they tell you that they will need an interview and later they wave it?
I am asking because a friend of mine had the same situation and they waved her interview after they had told her she needed one, but she lives in another country and I am currently in U.S.A.
Thank you for your help

(in reply to: Interview) Question for you,
Did they tell you that they waived the interview after they first told you that you needed an interview or they waived your interview right from the beginning? Also, what was your timeline after you received the file transfered to Detroit?
Thanks

(in reply to: Interview) They have every right to reserve for an interview anytime during the process. Whats the big deal to attend interview. If you have everything right in its place then attempt it nothin to hide ....ehhh

(in reply to: Interview) I am trying to understand why in some cases they will wave the interview after they told you that you actually needed one. This has nothing to do with the truthfulness of the application, that is up to the immigration office to decide. I know that they reserve the right to change their minds at any time. I was just trying to find out if that has actually happened to anyone before or not.

(in reply to: Interview) The problem with interview is it takes up more time at least around 6 months more. I got my IA in October and still have not heard more about interview. It´s already been 3 months. People who got interview waiver are now awaiting PP request.
Also going for an interview for example I have to goto Detroit, I live in Virginia. If I drive it takes all day, so that´s a waste of 3 days. I could fly for cheaper but still $200 plus you probably have to stay at a Hotel for a day, the cab fare thats´ $400 (what I paid for the application fee)
So timewise and money wise its best to try to get a waiver if possible. There is nothing wrong with sitting for interview but if we can get a waiver why not try your best to get it?
