Subject: Sponsor and PR Applicant both living overseas |

Hello and first off thanks for this wealth of information you have made available on this forum.
I am a Canadian citizen who has been living exclusively outside of Canada for 9 years and I now wish to sponsor my wife (Taiwanese born) who lives with me in Malaysia for her PR. On my Sponsor forms I indicate that I/we intend to move back to Canada once her PR is approved. I provide further evidence of my ties to Canada (entire family lives there), my RRSP there etc. I neither own nor rent any property in Canada. I currently earn a base salary of approx C$75K annually and my wife´s last income level is similar. She is currently studying a Graduate degree (MBA). My question is whether CIC will approve me as a sponsor or will they find ground to reject me. This is my sole concern with the process.

(in reply to: Sponsor and PR Applicant both living overseas) They will approve you as a sponsor-----PERIOD.
Income is not an issue when sponsoring a spouse or dependent child but I would hope that you pay some Canadian Income Tax for 2007.
Welcome Home!
