Subject: police certificates without fingerprinting?
I am a US citizen and have been offered a job in canada, and the company i am going to work with is about to submit everything to immigration. But i´m wondering if there is a way to do this without having to be fingerprinted. I am not a criminal, and refuse to be treated as one. I consider being fingerprinted for something non-criminal a violation of my right to privacy. I want to move to canada because I see america becoming a nazi police state very quickly, and considering my spiritual/religious/moral beliefs and sexuality, I am completely against being fingerprinted [the jews didn´t think anything bad would happen when they submitted to similar type actions in germany]. I find it appalling that I should be required to send fingerprints to the FBI for a criminal background check, really. Canadians don´t have to be fingerprinted to immigrate as permanent residents to the USA, why should it be vice versa.

please help,
kat

Also know that once you are fingerprinted for this immigration purpose, your prints will be become part of FBI property and stay in their data base for references when criminal searches are performed based on finger prints lifted off the crime scene! Inadvertently, your prints become part of the their database though the ostensible present purpose is to verify previous criminal record, if any. Say thanks Canada for making my fingerprints a US Govt property!

When you send fingerprints to RCMP they do not keep them after they have performed their check. How do I know this....I sent my fingerprints to them when I begun my immigration process in April 2003. They sent them to CHC, and now last summer when I got my IA they asked me to send RCMP police certificate again. So I asked from RCMP if they could use those earlier prints, and they replied that they do no keep them after search. Also they do not only check your criminal record for immigration...if you will be employed to do any work involving vulnerable people, you have to get that done. It is only meant to protect others.
