Subject: Permanent Resident application through Quebec |

I´ve been living in Canada for about an year and half, as a student in Ontario. I´ve also lived in Quebec for about three months (as a student too).
For the PR application, it turns out that Quebec requires a minimum of 6 months of work exprience, whereas the federal process requires at least a year.
My question: Is it possible to apply for PR through Quebec, and say, 6 months later apply through the Federal Skilled Worker class?
I want to know if by doing this I would increase my chances of getting the PR status. I know that the application through Quebec goes through the federal level too: Quebec is responsable for the selection and Ottawa for the admission (medical and security clearance). What I don´t know is if one app can mess up the other, or if I can actually do both and still have a shot at the federal level (which is longer) in case the app through Quebec doesn´t work.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thank you all and Happy 2005 ! !

(in reply to: Permanent Resident application through Quebec) Thanks for answering ed. Yes, I speak French fluently. I took their online evaluation on the website and it tells me at the end that I meet all the requirements to succesfully apply.
That´s why I´m cosidering doing it, even though I know it can be even more demanding than the federal process (regarding your skills/labour field).
But my question is: Can I apply at the Provincial and Federal level at the same time (or at least within 6 months difference), without having one app interfering with the other?

(in reply to: Permanent Resident application through Quebec) actully i am not very expert in that.
but i am gonna tell u what i did.
i appalyed for quebec first cause i heared its easier and faster and in four months i received a letter from them to go for an interview.and i went to that interview and i passed it and they issued to me the quebec selection right away and they told me to applay for buffalo.
its very hard to be refused for quebec if u have a good qualification and u speak french.
wish u the best luck.
