  Hi Roy,

Before I ask a question again, I just wanna let you know that through your help and the informations you gave me and an enlightening words from my Pastor, I will not be pushing through with my immigration plans with the agency that is helping me out. To be honest, I already paid an initial amount but it´s ok as long as I have peace of mind. Money can be earned but peace of mind, even though you have money, you can´t buy it.

Just wanna seek your professional/legal opinion on this statement. this statement is written on my retainer agreement which was being prepared by my agency or consultant. It says:

THE AEO DOCUMENT IS ONLY VALUABLE TO CLIENTS WHO WISH TO IMMIGRATE TO CANADA AS PERMANENT RESIDENTS. IT DOES NOT RESULT IN A WORK PERMIT. IT ONLY HELPS A PERSON IMMIGRATING TO GET ENOUGH POINTS TO PASS THE QUALIFYING PASS MARK OF 67 POINTS. THEY ALSO GET PRIORITY PROCESSING.

These are my questions:

1. Is this statement correct? Or is there any misrepresentation on this statement?

2. Does AEO mean a GUARANTEED JOB OR NOT because my consultant told me when I land in Canada only 10% possibility that I will still have the job.

3. What does AEO really do?

I should admit that it´s my fault that I did not reseach on this AEO thing before I seek help from this consultant. It was an impulsive decision on my part that I grabbed this scheme because I can land in Canada within the span of 2 years only but thank God, it´s never too late to retreat.

Once again, thank you and more power. Hope you can enlighten me more about this AEO.

Good day,
Marivic

1. true
2. true - 90% of employers will not wait for you...which means you lose you 5 points... which means you may not make it through the interview if you cannot prove the job is still waiting for you.
3. gives you 5 points. Uncle Joe has a construction company. Cousin Lou is immigrating to Canada under a skilled worker application. Uncle Joe guarantees him a job when he arrives. Lou gets 5 points.

Thanks Sharon and Roy. I remember in my previous posting, Roy asked me, which came first, the AEO or ILETS?

1. If the AEO came first before I took the ILETS, this is not the correct procedure right because I have my AEO first before taking the ILETS.

2. Is it safe for me to say that my AEO was acquired not in a legal means or rather what canadian immigration prodecure should be even though my consultant told me that it is approved by the service Canada.

3. So Sharon, when you said 90% of employers will not wait, so a lot of people who migrated to canada using AEO will not get the job. Is this statement correct?

4. With my first posting, how come Roy you told me as what you have interpreted it that my AEO is a BOGUS. What are your basis?

Many thanks again.

Marivic

no, people with legitimate interviews and offers are often clearly aware of the timelines involved and will often attempt to get that candidate a work permit or a PNP or some such opportunity. If it is an arms length AEO and you did not negotiate your own deal but instead paid money for a matchmaker - you are just a piece of paper and a means to extract money by an unscrupulous consultant.

If a recruiter was out looking for employees the cost to you would be zero. Employer pays.

Thank you thank you Sharon, now I fully understand it. Yes I seek a consultant to do everything for me. To process my papers and they told me through AEO, I can expedite my papers so I just submitted my transcript and the consultant is the one who searched for a job and thus an AEO was given to me. As you termed it "matchmaker". I just have to pay and presto, I can land in Canada as permanent resident. I was wrong in saying I just have to wait for 2 years. NO not 2 years but only 18 months and I can land. Super fast isn´t it?

As I told you, it was an impulsive decision on my part and during the process of my papers some of my friends told me that there´s something which is not right about the AEO and I prayed about it and was convicted .Luckily I found this forum and right people like you and Roy answered all my queries.

If you don´t mind Sharon, are you like Roy a CSIC member?

Again many many thanks and more power.

God bless,
Marivic

no, I have another job totally away from immigration but have become a bit of a CIC junkie over time.

don´t beat yourself up. The waits for immigration are far too long and I would be looking for ways to make things go a little quicker too. We are not born immigration experts and sometimes the offer sounds close enough to be believable. Unfortunately, as in your case... by the time you learn enough to spot the error, the money is long gone.

All I can suggest to people is if someone is making you a promise to get you a job and they want money to do so... RUN.

Can you suggest a reliable consultant that can help me find AEO job offer in Canada?

I have applied for Skilled immigration in 2007 and still waiting...

An AEO can take eight months from the time of submission then there is the FSW process.

We find it better for all concerned if you have a valid offer of employment in an occupation is highly in demand to seek out a LMO and come here on a work permit.

Some provinces will allow you to seek Permanent Resident status through their PNP program supported by an employer. You can also apply through CIC CEC program. Just go to www.cic.gc.ca and click on the blue link left side Immigrate and read everything.

Now Sharon`s comment regarding Unscrupulous Consultants`` a crook is a crook.

Regarding AEO application abuse this media story seems to be the best reason why not to seek out people to do an AEO. This Consultant was working as a PARTNER in a Law Firm.

Remember just because someone seems ethical it does not mean they are. I can find no evidence of any charges being laid.
