Subject: Landing question
I will be going to Rainbow Bridge from Toronto to do landing. Do I need to go to USA side or not or just go to canada immigration office? Do I need any letter from USA side? Please advise.
Thanks

you go to the US side and they will deny you entry or in some cases allow you (depending on your passport). you are now in another country. you turn yourself around and come back through the Canadian side.

flagpoling anyone?

US visa (in reply to: Landing question)
I have the same case as Samuel, and I am planning to go to Canada´s Port of Entry for landing from Toronto. I understand that I will have to pass through the US port of entry.
Will I need a US visa to pass through the US side in order to go to Canada´s side?

Thank you.

no. the US will reject your entry and send you back to Canada. I know it sounds odd - but there is a bit of a no-mans land between the 2 border offices that satisfies Canada that you have left the country.
