Subject: Marriage&Residence in Canada
  Good day,

I am a Canadian Citizen wanting to marry a girl from a European Union country who currently lives in the UK (for 3 years). We´ve been on a trip together(two weeks), ive been to UK for a week and shes been here in Canada for two weeks visiting. Now we are looking to start some serious relationship by getting married. After searching quite a bit on the internet it was clear there are 2 ways of getting this accomplished: "Within Canada" application and "Outside of Canada" application. The first option takes around 24 months of processing time and the 2nd one from 6 - 8 months. I also read that my to-be-partner may live in Canada with me for the duration of the process. is that true? Would we be able to get married in Canada during her visit or that has to be done in another country , refering to "Outside of Canada". Do i initiate the sponsorship application before or after we get married? I was told by a friend of a friend that applications have to go through CPC(Center Processing Center) in Ontario and that i have to go through London as well. As of now, i am not entirely sure where to start, getting married and then initiation the application? Can she come here as a visitor for 6 months and we start the application? other than hiring a representative that is around 3k(is it worth it?) i am abit confused. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

You will have to prove a bond between the two of you. A strong bond.

Within Canada can be five years or more your time line is for stage one approval from Vegreville CPC. If they send your file to the local office OUCH!

Outside Canada application goes through Mississauga CPC first then sent to your partners Visa Post (aka London). Seven - nine months.

All inside Canada applications are to go through Vegreville, Alberta but if you click on one of the In Canada spousal applications it will inform you to mail it to Mississauga CPC as well. Then only a magician can imagine where they would forward the In Canada application.

Regardless remember to prove a bond a strong bond and that could be difficult with you even though your relationship probably is genuine.

Thank you for reply, greatly appreciated.
A few more questions:

Can she come to Canada to get married and then start applying for the Sponsorship/PR?
I heard you will be denied entry if you claim your reason for visit is to get married. Obviously lying to an immigration officer is bad strategy. It is almost having to do something illegal which i do not intend to do. Would i be forced to go to my partner´s country of residence to marry there first, then both come here (her as a visitor but at the same time as sponsored family member)?

Thanks
