Thats it no more proccessing of new applications! save yourself money and time, too many people are waiting for immigration.. so cic is closed for everyone else.

It is a big rumor going around. I heard it from more than a dozen people at Universities who said they are waiting for CIC to start processing again before sending in their applications.

I think the rumour starts from the fact that many CIC offices including Buffalo are not processing skilled worker applications received after a certain date until the new changes to the immigration act come into effect and it is clear how the new applications are to be processed.
It does not affect PNP or applications with AEO, but still why let the facts get in the way of some good scare-mongering.

and those people at University - do they work for CIC?
IF the story is true, there are still thousands of applications that are in the system prior to Feb 2008 that continue to work their way through the system.
There are no layoff notices issued.

I would also say just stay away from the nasty folks at CIC. No one deserves to lose their hard earned cash to a buncha lowlives in Canada.
