Subject: Current Status at Buffalo
Hello Guys,

I am filing for Canada PR from Buffalo center through a consultant under skilled worker class. They say its taking 10-12 months to complete process is that true ?

Appreciate your feedback

Thanks
Happy New Year

Technically it is possible. However due to the delay during the Police Clearance and Medicals I´d safely say the complete time line from time you submit your docs to the time you get the visa is about 15-18 months.
You may cut short it by applying for police clearance in the 6th month of your application date. CIC-Buffalo applications take about 8 months for medicals so you´d be set with police certificates by then. From medicals to visa reciept takes about 6 weeks so yes if you follow that route and if you are able to get interview waiver your process can be cut to 12 months. However it is highly optimestic to think 10 months.

The attorneys NEED your money. So they will say the most PLAUSIBLE time frame, to make it look to you like a piece of cake. Once you retain their services, their attitude and the suggested time frame will change. Realistically, you would need 1.5-2 years to complete the process from the US. If your attorneys are A&K, beware! you will lose cash and stay in limbo.

PR ..waiting since jun 02 (in reply to: Current Status at Buffalo)
We applied for PR in skilled independent category on June 02 at RPC Buffalo. Medical and waiver of interview decision was made in Aug 03. Since then we have just been waiting for the application to move forwrd and a final decision. Seems to be in a limbo...
Infact, I have been waiting for the PR status to be granted before starting an MBA at Univ. of Toronto for which I have already got an admission. It´s such a downer.
Are there other people in similar situation.. would like to hear their experience.
