| Subject: Skilled Worker Application Status |

I´m a Srilankan, I applied for canadian immigration under skilled worker category about 2 years back. In Jan ´08 I submitted medical for myself and my family. After that when I inquired about the status, consulate people in colombo said "we will get back to you soon". Any idea what this means ? How long do I have to wait to hear an update on consulate.

Hi, Lankan... well... If you had your medicals done, I assume they asked you to get them done... if that is the case... I guess you should pretty close to getting an answer... but I don´t think anyone here can tell you exactly how long would it be...
Some people get their passport request withing few weeks after medicals are submitted... for others who have lived in many countries and may need a more lengthy background checks, it takes longer... sooooooo... you should hear from them soon...
If not... you can always contact them again or request...
