My friend in Vancouver will be driving us through the Canada border to the US border. My wife and myself plan to land there. He is already a permanent resident of Canada but he does´nt have a US visa. Will we have problems if he drives us to the US border and then turn back to land. Does he need to get a US visa to make the U-turn to the Canadian border? I understand that my wife and I have to get a refusal letter from the US immigration then drive back to Canadian border and present this letter to prove that we actually exited Canada. We´ve been living here in Alberta for 5 years. Pls. share your thoughts or similar experiences.

(in reply to: landing) unfortunately; if your friend is part of group of nations requiring visa to enter the U.S.; he will be refused and turned back. However; since you have these - you shall be admitted. Better aviod the inconvinience and rent a car yourself to do all the process.

Take a bus (in reply to: landing) Take a bus and tell your friend to wait for you somewhere on Canadian side of the boarder.
