Subject: english profeciency - is IELTS the only option? |

I am considering aplpying for Canadian permanent residence as a skilled worker. It´s very impractical for me to take IELTS, as the nearest to me test location is in thousands of km from where I currently live. Would any other type of certificate of English profeciency be a valid substitute for the IELTS score?

Yes, there is (in reply to: english profeciency - is IELTS the only option?) You can get TOEFL test instead of IELTS. In many countries TOEFL test is offered, also well respected test. That´s another way to prove your profeciency.

NO IELTS IS A MUST (in reply to: english profeciency - is IELTS the only option?) Dear Friend,
If you really want to immigrate, U will have to do a lot of un reasonable actions, U may be interviewd in another country not in yours, U may be asked to trave thousands of miles to make the interview and then simply they can refuse your case. So bear in mind that u have to do alot of incredible things.
TOEFL never mentioned in the canadian immigration website, so I don´t think it would be accepted.
Best lueck and regards,

Only IELTS... (in reply to: english profeciency - is IELTS the only option?) Hi,
There is no option for IELTS but proving your competency in the language English. No other test results are valid for the language ability.
