In the U.S., "fingerprints" is the same thing as a police certificate. This is because the FBI simply sends back your fingerprints with a stamp (arrest record or none). There is no seperate police certificate.

In other countries, there´s a more formal police certificate issued.

Wrong again Dr. Gobi. Fingerprinting is required only for getting police certificates from countries that need fingerprint to do a background check, for example FBI.

Countries that don’t require fingerprints, you wont need fingerprints to get police certificate from there.

BTW, Dr. Gobi where did you receive your doctorate in immigration? You don’t seem to know a whole lot about Canada immigration.

I just had a vacation back home, Philippines. I got my NBI there, did fingerprints. Aside from Philippines, i dont have any countries to prove clear criminal record. Never been to any country, except Canada now. Some of my friends who are from Philippines and only from Philippines, did only the Police certificata, and SOME did both. thats why im confused.

Somebody help pls...I believe RMasa like 85%.

Hi Hersheys,

Does Philippines requires your fingerprints before they can give you your police certificate? If they do, then you would need fingerprints. If not, then you dont.

Has CHC asked you to provide police certificate from Canada? If so, does Canada requires your fingerprints before they can do a police background check on you? If they do, then you would need fingerprints. If not, then you wont.

PCC (in reply to: Police Certificate /Fingerprints)
Hi,

Your website has been helpful.
Recently i got my CSQ from India and i need to submit papers to embassy and one of the problem i am facing is how do i get Police clearence certificate from UAE living in India. Since i was in UAE on Visit visa for nearly 2 years (renewing every 3 months).
Now my question is the PCC required and where and whom to contact and with CSQ should i be working only in Quebec.
Please let me know the details.
