Hello,
I´m a Canadian citizen living in HK, but looking to return to Calgary with my pregnant S.Korean wife. I´m wondering where would be a good place to process her PR app, in HK, Seoul or in Calgary. She has been in HK for 10 months.
Also does anyone know if Alberta healthcare will cover her before she gets her PR? She´s about 3 months along the way right now. My job contract includes health insurane seems to cover an array of things but none that coincides with the prenatal and delivery costs thats covered by the provincial healthcare.
And lastly, will informing CIC of the pregnancy help or endanger our case?
Thanks for any input!

(in reply to: Pregnancy and Spouse sponsorship) Hi Rio. I married a Brazilian lady and she has a TRV waiting for her PR application and also pregnant. The applications say they require permanent residency but I called Alberta healthcare and talked to a lady explaining the situation and that her PR status is a matter of time and she told me to fill in the application and send to her attention and they give her a healthcare card. I was somewhat surprised it was this easy. The process took about 30 days from the time I phoned until her card arrived and it was effective immediately. So if you hear or read she requires permanent residency try calling and talking to someone there. The healthcare card will be valid for as long as her visa is vaid.
