Subject: Steps for applying for PR / SIN / Medical Card
Hi all Thanks for providing the clarification regarding PR Application process.
Now I have got my Immig. Visa stamping and planning to land in Canada this week.

Hope someone can help answer my questions:

1.After landing, do I have to apply for PR card (by filling an application and signature card)? My CoPR has the information for PR Card and has a green box for signature.
2. How do I apply for SIN card and Medical Card?

3. If I land in B.C., can I leave an Ontario address to receive the PR card? Medical Card and SIN card?

When you land, the immigration officer will take care of your PR card. You may leave an Ontario address.

Your medical card will have to be taken care of in the province you will be living in (Ontario?). Some provinces have a 3 month wait time beginning as soon as you apply, so do this as soon as you can.

You can apply for your SIN card in any province. The IO can help you find a location. It typically only takes a couple of weeks to receive your card, and you will receive your number immediately. You will want to apply for this as soon as possible as well, as you will need it to start working.

Congratulations on your landing!

one very important thing. You will have to sign for PR card box in front of Immg. officer only at the Port of Entry.
