Subject: PR Card and Going there
  Hello,

If i have got my landing papers, is it Ok, if i land in Canada, without my family (who also have applied for immigration)?

Is it Possible i could stay in canada for the next 5 years to complete the PR Card term, and not call my family over?

My child is in school at the moment and would not like to disturb her career?

Can i re apply for their PR Card after i get my citizenship

Kindly advise

Hi, I am not an expert... but your plan sound like a complete waste of time to me!

I assume you worked hard to apply to come to Canada and that you had to wait years to go there... so it doesn´t make sense to me why would you want your family to lose what you´ve worked hard to get...

You can enter Canada by yourself yes... and start your live there without your family... but I think it is better if you all enter and land together... if you want to eventually end up in Canada that is... it will be much easier to land and use your current PR approval than waiting 4 years so you can become a citizen and then sponsor them again... God knows how long that would take!

If I were you, I would land with my family and then if your daughter needs to finish her school... she can stay our of Canada on and off for two year without losing her PR status... then after two year she must come back and she will not be able to leave for the next 3 years in order to maintain her PR status...

Once again, I am not an expert so do wait for some more replies...

good luck

PR visa has a limited time (1 year from the medical date) to enter into Canada.

You can land alone, but if your family doesn´t arrive within that deadline (meaning they lost their granted PR status) then the only option would be for you to sponsor them in family class. Depending on your home country..spouse, it may be a lenghthy process involving some of uncertainity, also expensive, after 5 years if any of your children crosses 21 years then they even may not qualify...

You also have to show a certain income in Canada at that time.

Morever, who knows what´ll be the family class imigration rules after 5 years?

To me, best is to LAND all together then send them back and keeping their PR status valid by following 2/5 years rule.

So, decision is yours.
