I am a canadian citizen i met my fiance a few months ago and are now planning to get married. He had applied for regugee status but his application was denied. What are the chances our sponsorship will be denied. Will he be forced to leave the country?

you are going to have to prove he is not marrying you to gain entry into Canada. If he is in Canada and you sponsor him, you have zero chance to appeal. I would strongly advise against this route.

As ugly as it is, marry him (if it is genuine) have him leave the country and you begin and Outland application.

its faster, you have appeal options, and CIC will be less inclinded to treat you both as criminals.

If sweetie resists this idea - well, may I suggest you think long and hard about how long you have known this guy, whether you are interested in being on the financial hook for him regardless of the status of your relationship, and whether he love you or Canada more.

I know, it sounds cold and heartless, but reality sometimes bites.

The relationship is genuine i am not marrying him so he can stay in canada he would easy rather us leave the country and make our lives back in his country but for personal reason i am not willing to leave canada...im scared he will be asked to leave..im not sure if we can handle being away from each other that long.. would the outland application be the only and best option..has anyone ever won a case like this

you need to be prepared for him being deported.

you have yourself a difficult situation. you will need to put pragmatic ideas in front of romantic ones. If the objective is ultimately being together in Canada, you may have to take a few detours to get there.

consider going to his country for a year and applying that way (as a Canadian citizen, this is an option for you)

Thanks for the advice...i have a 6 year old son with another person and he is very close to his father as well as i dont think his father will approve us leaving country...other wise i would move to his country ...that was the reason for looking for any other options

If you are applying inland you better get married and file the sponsorship before the iniate the PRRA process. Also if he became a failed refugee before you met, proving that the relationship is genuine may be a bit of a challange.
