Subject: Wants to immigrate from India with my mother
  Hi,

I am a Software Developer and currently in Canada on Business Visit which will last till last week of August. I have a job offer from the client I am visiting. From the Canada Immigration website I got to knew that I can get my worker visa and then can apply for PR. And asa I get my worker visa, I can get my wife and children with me.

My father got expired some long time back and I want my mother to be with me here in Canada asap. She is currently working in a semi-govn company in India. She is ready to quit the job. Now what is the fastest way to get the PR for her. And till the time we get her PR, what is the best way so that she can spend most of the time here with us (may be like on visitor visa or something else)

I can not leave my mother alone and if I did not get any way, I will too not get immigrated here.

I will appreciate your early response. I found this forum really live and the best.

Regards
Mukesh Garg

you cannot do anything about your mother until your PR application is complete. Then you can begin the process of sponsoring your mother once you have established your income etc.

There is no quick process. Mom is at a minimum 3-5 years away from being with you in Canada.

First thing is to get your PR, then bringing your Mom. Unfortunately from India it will be very lenghthy. Then you have to come..get a good job..and can sponsor your mom. For sponsoring, they usually need 2 past 2 years tax certificate in Canada. Then the sponsorship process itself for the parents take like 4/5 years. More bad news is, a new immigration change is making sponsoring parents even tougher.

You of course can look for the work visa program. You at least can come and hopefully can bring her on visitor visa. But you have to have a job offer in Canada for that. If that is not impossible to say, fair to say closer to impossible without any internal help from there.

Thanks a lot Sharona and DC for your expert guidance.

It is okay if it take 3-5 yrs to get the PR for my mom. In that time period, can my Mom come here in Canada on visitor visa regularly and stay for six months regularly. Means after going back from Canada to India on visitor visa, can she apply again for visitor visa within one month of landing in India. So in that way she can be with us regularly and need to be in India for 1-2 months between two six month trips to Canada. Is that possible? And is that feasible to do like this untill my mom get PR?

I think you are still not getting the entire picture.

"It is okay if it take 3-5 yrs to get the PR for my mom..."

Problem is, you are not yet a PR yet. You yourself need to go a long way yet to get the PR status, then the question of Mom would come. Only hope is the new law may shorten the processing time or backlog.

Yes, she can come as a visitor, can stay for upto 6 months each time I believe and even can extend the period. Though if she is applied for the immigration visa then there is a good chance of rejecting visitor visa unless the immigration application is finalized.

Thanks DC for your guidance. Yes I understand that I need to go through the process of getting my PR first and then I can apply for my mother PR in ´sponsor relative´ kind of category.

And before applying PR for my mom, my mom can apply for multi-entry visitor visa. What you say on this?

Thanks a lot DC for your support.

I more thing I want to ask is that I applied for business visa for 3 months. And I got visa of "WX-1" category which I think is temporary work visa. Now as I have offer from Canadian Co. and being software developer, my employer do not need the labour opinion, can I apply for the worker visa from inside the Canada itself? Or I need to go back to India first and then apply for the worker visa from there?

I´m not 100% sure, though believe that you´ve to go out of Canada to get the visa, don´t have to come back to India though, can take it from USA as well. However, in that case will need the US visa also.
