Canada every year welcomes many international students for their higher studies..masters..Ph.D...

So, as a PR why not you?

Though in the good universities admission is very very competitive, attributed due to many times by the new immigrants like you. So I can´t tell your chance, you have to do research; see different University websites in your subject..contact the professors by e-mail..admission officials..There is no short cut to day this, this is an extensive full time work. Believe me when I went to the US for higher studies from back home I had to work very hard just to find the appropriate information..contacts..that time internet was very expensive in your country.

Admission decision in masters is done mostly by your Undergrad GPA + TOEFL/IELTS score. The school from where you are graduating is also a big factor. If you have bad in one side then may try to improve the other. If your Undergrad result is not that great then I wouldn´t suggest you look for the great schools.

Read this thread, here a guy also asked a similar question that may help you also.

Thanks for your information.
I have done my IELTS about three years back when i had to apply to canada please tell me whether i have to redo it before i come.
We are settling in british columbia.
University of british columbia ask an upper class for the M.Sc in plant science. But i dont have. Do they still consider me as an international student eventhough i have PR, cause entry requirement for canadian credentials are different.
Can u explain to me this please.
My country is sri lanka.

Usually if you stay in a province for at least 1 year then you should be considered as a "domestic" student, not international. Then your tution fee would be much lower. I don´t think that BC is different.

Though I believe that you have to retake the IETLS, I know that TOEFL score is good for just an year, IELTS shouldn´t be that different. It would be a good idea to get a high score to ensure admission + possible financial aids.

If you don´t have the req´d undergrad marks then also you may get admission, specially if you are physically there. You may meet the professors there face to face and may convince them. It works sometimes.

When you receive your PR, you are considered a domestic student. Yor credential has to be assessed by a credential assessment agent. To find out about credential assessing look at www.immigratedoctorcanada.com
