Subject: Immig application approved but medical is EXPIRED
  Hi all,

I have received a letter from Canadian Consulate General Office that my application for Canadain Immigration has been fully approved. They have asked me to send my passport for the issuance of Immigrant Visa. But the problem is that my Medical is expired.

Does anyone have this type of situation? Could you please let me know what to do in this regard?

Should I send my passport even though my medical is expired?

I am hesitating to send my passport because I know that the landing date counts from the date of medical, and immigrant visa validity is till the date of the expiration of medical exam. But my medical is already expired. So what would be the validity of my immigrant visa?

Please if you know the answer to this issue let me know.

Thanks
Arshad

In either case don´t send your passport, but make a copy of pages where is your photo, first and last page of the passport.

I have the same situation (in reply to: Immig application approved but medical is EXPIRED)
My advise is better inform them, actually they shoulc know it before sending it and ask you to have medical check up again. because the visa expired by the time your mdical is expired
For me i got the visa stamp but the time is very limited for me to landed, then what i heard is i have to filein new application again. i don´t know know whether I have to pay including landing fee agian even i haven´t use it

Here's what you should do... (in reply to: Immig application approved but medical is EXPIRED)
Hi,

First of all congratulations!

Well, the authority clearly states to the applicants that never do the medicals unless you are adviced! By doing that, you are - optimizing yours and others processing time, saving your money and efforts and MOST IMPORTANTLY; avoiding unnecessary delays.

Now, you should first check with the designated doctors if they ask for your identity at the time of medicals. If they don´t insist for the original passports and IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ABSOLUTELY DON´T NEED PASSPORT FOR ANY LOCAL AUTHORITATIVE NEEDS, then you can send the passport.

Another simple way is - go get your medicals done as early as possible and then send passport immediately. But, there is a catch - I think you will have to obtain the new medical papers, too (I think Section - A).

In both the situations, its advisable to just fax the immigration office about the situation.

Good Luck...

I also recived the letter asking for sending the passport for visa and my medical has expired 7-8 months earlier.
they did not ask for redoing the medicals.
very confused..either to send passports or ask papers for redoing medicals. I afraid they gonna take years again of sending me forms for medicals.
