buying a home and availability of funds to buy a home has nothing to do with your immigration application. You applied in 2004 so you may keep around one or more year in mind as this is the normal time frame from Delhi, India. Basically, giving a time frame is totally an assumpation and and a guess based on previous experiences, otherwise there is no guarantee how long does it take ant any specific visa post. Islamabad (Pakistan), Delhi (India), Manila (phillipines) are few of those visa posts where the process takes longer time period than other visa posts in the world. And sometimes it depends upon the case as well. If you have submited your application accurately, free of errors, and all the required documents are attached, there is nothing suspicious inn your file then you may expect the usual time frame which is posted on CIC website for Delhi, India. 4-5 or 6 years. So calm down, save more money so that you can buy a bigger house and wait for the final outcome.
