For some reasons I could not add my reply to previous thread that I created. So starting the new thread. Reference to old thread.

I found some concrete info on the matter. Please check the link
http://geo.international.gc.ca/can-am/detroit/right_nav/traveldocumentapplicationandinstructions-en.asp It says "If you are returning to Canada by private vehicle, you may proceed directly to the border to seek admission with evidence that will satisfy the officer at the Port of Entry that you are a Canadian permanent resident."
Well in any case I´m applying for Travel document just to be sure.

Now cpl of words for Mr. Roy. You seems to assume too much stuff. In your first reply you assumed that I´m illegal in USA and I politely informed you that you are wrong and then in your 2nd reply you are assuming I´m guilty of something.

Good to know Sam, thanks for the referal info. I also heard it somewhere that you can enter from the US with an expired PR card but have to come by own car, not by any commercial vehicle.
For some folks here just staying in the US is similar to a felony crime..just that is enough to go overboard without anything else.
