Subject: IELTS RESULTS
  Hello again,
My sister just received her IELTS results, could you please tell me if she will be assigned 4 or 5 immigration points.
Speaking 4.5
Writing 4.5
Listening 4
Reading 5

The other question, she is holding a University Diploma and is almost finishing her second one, in total she has 18 years. How many points will she get for her education.
Thank you

Actually she will only get 5 points according to page 9 of the FSW application instructions booklet...

Her test results indicate that she has BASIC speaking, writing and listening skills... she barely got to the MODERATE level on reading...

For each BASIC Skill (scores between 4.0 - 4.9) you get 1 point... so she gets a total of 3 points with her current scores for speaking, writing, and listening...

For writing (MODERATE: scores between 5.0 - 6.9) she gets 2 points... for a total of 5 points on the language proficiency category...

For her education, she should be able to claim 22 points even if she doesn´t complete her second degree...

For more details about filling out your application and getting all the answers you may need, I suggest you to print the instructions booklet (IMM EG700)... go to www.cic.gc.ca there you will find it there!

Good Luck!

Thank you Lily,
This is what I hoped to read. I was afraid that CIC officer will assign her only 4 points for IELTS and 20 in Education.

Dear Miri... keep in mind that I am not an expert... I just gave you the information I found in my instructions booklet and my opinion to the best of my knowledge from applying as a SW myself and from reading posts made in this and other forums...

Do double check the information... by the way... if possible, she should try to sit for the IELTS and see if she can get better scores just in case she is short of points in other areas...

Good luck!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

follow that link... it will get you right to it... keep in mind that these instructions are not for the simplified application... there is another booklet for that... but the information and requirements are the same at the end...

good luck!
