If it is a skilled calss category then you must expect to get questions regarding your experience more than anything else. I shall share my experience with you. The visa office holding my complete file in her hands and verifying all the information. For Example, in your application if you mentioned that you 2 years of experience as ABC with Company abc. Then the visa officer will ask you, Mr. Amjad. What was your position with Company ABC. How long did you work for them? What were your main job responsibilities? Step by step visa officer verifies all the information and notices your confidence level. Sometimes they ask tricky questions. Like, we received an anonymous letter that you have a criminal background in your country, what do you thaink who can give us this information? They doface reading by uch questions. Because getting a fake police clearance certificate from some countries is not a big deal. So they want to know how would you handle such questions.

Be confident and answer to the point. they will also ask you about the avialble funds. Like where did you get this money. You have to explain how have you been saving money because some people borrow money from others to show that they have enough funds with them.

What would you go in Canada and whay? What kind of jobs do you think you will be able to get in Canada? Did you do do any home work for that?

Basically review your application that you submitted to them if you have photocopies with you. And prepare yourself for these questions.

When i was interviewed, she told me that she received an anonymous letter that i have a criminal background in my country and she asked what do you think, who can write such letter to us. I said i have no idea who can do this because i dont have any enemies but i can assure you that i have no criminal background. Then she said it will take us more than 2 years to do your complete background check. I saidf that would be unfair because i have most recent Police Clearance with me however, if this satisfies you then please go ahead, i have no problem with that. And thats how we eneded up with the interview. And within next 20 days i received my passport request. Which proves that i satisfied her tricky questions with confidence because i was right.

So if you are not telling any lie on your application you will be confident in answering all the questions. Some tricky questions do make your nervous but take iot easy because this is the key of success. dont panic and be confident.

Good Luck!

1. questions like tell me about your self.
2.what where your duties in the position as a e.g.accountant or a programmer.
3. why do you want to go to canada.
these were some of the questions asked to me.

also arrange your documents in a nice index format so in case the officer wants to see any paper you don´t waste time looking for the paper.

Hello Mike... Is it correct to assume that you were asked to appear for an interview even after you had your medical done?

I have read that in most cases they will call someone for an interview prior to sending medical examinations request... but in your case... they asked you for an interview right before passport request...

Would you be so kind to clarify this for me... thanks a lot!

Yes Lily, i did my medical before the interview. I was sent the medical forms and then called for an interview. I was very quick in doing whatever they were asking me to do. When i received the medical forms i quickly scheduled appointment with doctor and did it within one week. I submitted my landing fee even before the interview and medicals. So when i was interviewed i was done with almost every thing, medicals, most recent police clearance, most recent bank statement, etc. And when a surprise was given to me that i have a criminal background and it will take them 2 years, iw as shocked because i was a student in USA and i wanted to move to Canada directly from USA and my legal stay in USA was expiring in months. And then i received another surprise when my lawyer sent me an e-mail that they have received a pssport request so i should send the passport to them. And i did it with pre-paid envelope and received with stamp on it within 15 days after they received it.

Thank you Mike, I am so glad it all worked out for you at the end... but I can´t not imagine what it must be like to have someone throw you something like that on an interview... that was a really nasty trick! I am glad you survived it and that you are now happily living in Canada (I assume)...

I am so anciously waiting for that next letter from CIC... we had medicals done last Jan but had to wait until June to send one more police report... I am thinking of every ´bad´ scenerios... and I am not sure how I feel about an interview...

Thank you so very much for your reply... and good luck!

Thanks to God, i am living a happy life in Canada. Its a great country and i hope that you will pass all the stages successfully and land in Canada soon.

Well, one must be prepared to face such tricky question. Nobody told me about these thing when i went for interview however, i was clean therefore i did not get nervous and handled it very well.

I wish you all the best!
