  Dear Friends,
Dear friends,

I had applied for immigration in India from 2005 and waiting for the completion of the process.I heard that there are lot of changes happening in immigration. Can any one explain about this?
I am planning to bring my wife only after my settlement. So should i pay the visa processing fees of my spouse now? I had applied for immigration through WWICS and they told me that if i pay the fees of my spouse now and as the process goes on after interview/waiver she can apply for extension for medicals to embassy.Otherwise if i apply after landing in Canada she will be coming under dependant visa.Is it true?Expecting your advice and suggestions in this matter. Thanks in advance.

Apply now, otherwise under spousal sponsorship you have to prove that your marriage and so on. If you do now your wife will get visa with you.

Well here we go again, lol

You hire a company to advise you and you post here, hmmmm.

You are planning to bring your wife??? That is nice.

Your wife is a dependent so she has to pass security and medical checks so the issue is $550.00 application fee. Now any dependent has to land with the principal applicant or after the principal applicant.

The real reason is establishment so you wish to save the cost of processing fees and a flight ticket so the two of you can live separate and apart for how long?

When a couple enjoy the good times and the bad together it normally makes them a stronger marriage.

So you will have the expenses of an additional medical procedure, loneliness etc. etc all for the cost of processing fees.

I can never understand the logic of excluding a spouse from the primary application.

Dear Roy and Sharon,
I will explain in detail. I had applied for immigration to Canada through WWICS and i got my file number in july 2005.I had appeared for IELTS test and i scored 7 bands each and submitted the cetificate to CHC,Delhi in jan 2006.
I got married on sept 2007.As you will agree that i have to update the details to CHC.
While going through discussion with friends and relatives they told me that its better for me to land first, settle and then bring family after one or two years. This is the reason behind this step and nothing related with cost.
During the discussion with WWICS they told me to pay the VPF of spouse now itself so that the case will be processed together and i can qualify more points for the process. After interview/waiver my wife can apply for an extension from medicals and other procedures for some more time. And my procedures will be completed by that time i can move to Canada. After some time she can join with me.
Regarding immigration consultants you know better than me.Thats why i do get in touch with you people so that i will get a good advice.Hope now you can undestand the situation.I do agree with Roy that couples should share the ups and downs of life so that bonding will be there.
With Regards
GS
