Hello!I have an urgent question,I am planning to shift to Canada next month with my family,as permanent immigrant from India. I would like to know how to transfer funds from India to Canada?

Open a bank account with ICICI bank in India. Or even without a bank account get a certified cheque or bank draft from any bank in India and bring it along with you and when you are in Canada just open an account here and deposit the cheque or bank draft. There is ICICI bank in Canada as well. It is not adviseable to carry cash with you.

follow the same process. Bank does not matter, any bank can issue you a certified cheque or international bank draft. You may speak with the bank and they will tell you the whole process. Remember its not about transferring the money only, you have show the the money at port of entry so bank draft or certified cheques are the easiest and cheapest way.

Go for certified checks.
Take a small amount of money to be used in your trip and your immediate arrival..I would say 1000-2000 USD. The rest in a certified check.
